The third vice president of the Government, Teresa Riberahe assured this Saturday at the Federal Committee of the PSOE that socialists can become “beggars, bambis or dogs”, in reference to the disqualifications received by the three presidents of the PSOE Government, but in no case “illegitimate.”
Ribera will be ratified this Saturday as a PSOE candidate for the European elections in a Federal Committee converted into an act of massive support to Pedro Sanchezwho has not attended the appointment after having canceled his public agenda until Monday to decide on his future, after the complaint against his wife, Begoña Gómez.
In her open intervention, like the rest of the interventions, something unprecedented in a Federal Committee, the also Minister of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has expressed his support for Sánchez and has asked him to stay. “Pedro, it’s worth it, stay, we count on you for the great challenges that we have to overcome together,” she said.
In addition, he has reviewed the disqualifications that being in the Government the socialist presidents have received Felipe GonzálezJosé Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero and the current one, Pedro Sánchez, claiming them as their own by highlighting the positive.
“They can call us beggars, it’s fine if what we’re talking about is asking for cohesion and a fairer Europe, as happened to Felipe. They can call us bambis because we are bambis and naive, believers in values, rights, freedomscooperation and peace, as they tried to insult José Luis,” he stated.
“And you can call us dogs, because we are faithful and loyal defenders of rights, of the future of the Spanish people, of our young people. We are beggars, bambis and dogs. What we are not in any case is illegitimate or people without values,” he added.
Work “for democracy”
In this sense, he stressed that the votes and principles of the PSOE “are worth exactly the same as those of everyone else.” Ribera has called for work “every day” in favor of democracy and has criticized the “harassment” of Sánchez and his family which, in his opinion, is part of “a strategy of lies and dehumanization” by the right.
