Five workers have been injured in the collapse recorded this Thursday in a building under construction in the Old Town of Bilbao, luckily none of them serious. The first hypotheses suggest that it is an accident caused “by the accumulation of rubble” and “a floor with very old beams”, as explained by the mayor of the city, Juan Mari Aburto.

The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. this Thursday, the time at which the firefighters received a notice of a collapse in a five-story building at number 24 of the TenderÃa street. The authorities have explained that the fourth floor, a place that would have been loaded with debris, has collapsed onto the third.
In any chaos, Juan Mari Aburto has explained that the the building permit was “well granted” since last January for its rehabilitation work. “From that point of view there is no problem,” he explained.
No risk of collapse
