Andorra la VellaAndorra Telecom has announced today the social project to which it will allocate the resources of the micro-patronage campaign it carries out thanks to its customers. Special Olympics Andorra will be the beneficiary entity on this occasion and the specific project consists of an exchange in Andorra of 10 German athletes with intellectual disabilities and their 5 coaches in the summer of 2025. This visit has its origins in the participation of athletes from ‘Special Olympics Andorra at the World Games in Berlin in June 2023.
The Andorran athletes were so well received in Olsberg, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, that they promised their hosts to welcome them to our country to show them Andorra and especially the culture and nature. The fundraising goal for this Special Olympics project is €9,000 and all customers of Andorra Telecom who wish to participate in this micro-donation campaign by adding 50 euro cents to their monthly bill.
The president of Special Olympics Andorra, Jordi Mora Pifarré, has thanked Andorra Telecom for its willingness to help them in this very special project for our athletes. “The contact with other athletes and the cultural exchange is a fantastic motivation for our young people. “Your support, our strength”
Under this motto, Andorra Telecom is launching a communication action among its customers to encourage them to join the project and to explain how to activate the monthly donation of €0,50: in the app’s online store or website of Andorra Telecom, or by calling 115. At the moment there are already 608 users of the company participating in the campaign, but the aim is to expand this number in the coming weeks and months “with the hope of doubling la”, as he explained Jordi Nadal, general manager of Andorra Telecom. Christmas added that “from our company we are committed to the social fabric of the country and that is why we put our commercial strength at the service of good causes, such as the one pursued by Special Olympics Andorra“.
The company has also announced the creation of the andorratelecom.worldcoo.com portal, where anyone who wishes will be able to learn more about the project, track the collection, as well as see the campaigns previously funded by the customers of the company
The Special Olympics project is the second micro patronage action promoted by Andorra Telecom, together with BOMOSA Universe i Worldcoo. It should be remembered that a few days ago the check for the first campaign was delivered, in this case for the benefit of the Andorran Red Cross and for which they collected more than €8,300 in contributions from the customers of the telecommunications company for the charity shop of the Andorran NGO.
