Sánchez claims the PSOE as “the systemic party” and continues without announcing measures in the face of the “advance” of the “regressive agenda”

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, sent a letter this Thursday to the PSOE militancy to thank the members for last week’s mobilizations to keep him at the head of the Executive. In his letter, dedicated to celebrating the 145th anniversary of the socialist formation, Sánchez assured that the PSOE is “the systemic party of democracy and the Spanish Constitution” and warned again about the danger suffered by a democracy that, he said, is “at stake.” The president, however, once again did not announce any concrete measures to stop “the advance of a far-right international that is trying to impose its regressive agenda.”

In his letter, Sánchez is grateful for having “felt the support of thousands of socialists, progressives, and democrats” in recent days, and affirms that he has “an immense debt of gratitude to all those people, to all of you.” “I have felt the personal affection, the concern for my family and for me. It is precisely that concern for people that is the ultimate driving force of our political cause. Because socialism is humanism. But I know well that it is not support for me as a person that unites us. Above all, we are united by supporting a cause.”says the president.

That cause, says Sánchez, involves defending “what is at stake, and not only in Spain,” which in his opinion “It is democracy as a form of coexistence in freedom.” “Our democracy, like those of the rest of the world, faces the advance of a far-right international that tries to impose its regressive agenda, not through the debate of ideas and the contrast of proposals, but through the destruction of the adversary,” the letter warns. , which outlines the operation of what it calls “the mud machine, encouraged by the right and the far-right, along with far-right websites and associations.”

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, visited this Wednesday the April Fair in Catalonia, which is being held these days between the cities of Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs.

These actors, Sánchez maintains, “make hoaxes and lies,” “hoaxes that are then spread in gatherings and on the platforms to later prosecute false complaints, seriously deteriorating our democracy and our coexistence“. “These days we have understood that defending democracy does not only consist of going to vote every four years. We must defend our democracy every day, rejecting those who turn politics into a quagmire of insults and falsehoods,” argues the President of the Government.
