Will There Be A ‘Them’ Season 3? Show Creator Little Marvin Hopes So

The horror anthology series Them received a two-season order from Prime Video in 2018 with the first season premiering in 2021 and the second premiering on April 25, 2024. Now that both seasons have been released, will there be more?

Decider spoke with show creator Little Marvin ahead of the Season 2 release. When asked about the prospects of a third season, he was entirely on board.

“I 1,000% have hopes and dreams,” Little Marvin said about a potential season renewal. “I would love to keep going. So let’s see.”

Series star Deborah Ayorinde, who returned to the show to play a new character in Season 2 after her standout turn as Livia “Lucky” Emory in Season 1, also expressed interest in returning for a third season.

“Short answer: Absolutely,” Ayorinde told Decider in a separate interview. “I don’t know what [Little Marvin] is going to do, but I’m here for whatever he comes up with.”

The Harriet actress further praised Little Marvin’s work, saying it was a “no-brainer” when he asked her to return for Season 2. “I trust him in a way that I don’t trust a lot of people with my art. When you’re an actor, you do the work, you give it away, and you leave it in the hands of the creatives or the editors. With LM, I’ve always trusted my art in his hands.”

When Season 1 premiered, the show was met with mixed reception due to its graphic racial violence and familiar scares. However, Little Marvin stands by the series, saying, “I can say with absolute clarity that we 1,000% meant the show that we made. I’m proud of that show. I’m proud of its fearlessness.”

But Little Marvin harbors no hard feelings towards critics, and given the show’s anthological nature, he encourages them to return for Season 2. “Whether you’d liked the first season or not, this is a standalone season, and you’re able to enjoy [Season 2] on its own terms,” he said.

Season 2, titled Them: The Scare, takes place in Los Angeles County in 1991 and follows LAPD Detective Dawn Reeve (Ayorinde) as she investigates the violent murder of a foster home mother and struggles with the community’s resistance to the police force in the aftermath of the assault of Black activist Rodney King.

As of now, Prime Video has not renewed Them for a third season. But fret not, the show is still fresh on the platform and there’s still plenty of time for the Amazon execs to make the call. The good news is that Little Marvin and Ayorinde are down for more, and so are we!
