The forensic experts declare that Arrieta’s skull presents blows made “with great violence” and “before his death”

The trial against Daniel Sancho for the alleged murder of Edwin Arrieta has resumed this Tuesday in the Thai court of Koh Samui for the third consecutive week and again behind closed doors for the media. The day began with the statement of two forensic doctors who analyzed part of Arrieta’s remains, which were then sent to several laboratories in Thailand.

During the session, special focus was placed on the damage to Arrieta’s skull, one of the parts of the body that has been recovered after being dismembered by the accused. According to sources present at the oral hearing, the forensic experts have declared that these damages “are not natural, but the result of a contusion or blow exerted with great violence.” Along these lines, they have declared that the blows “are compatible with a punch or a rigid object.”

The forensic experts have also detailed that Arrieta’s skull “had sunken eye sockets and fractured nose, in addition to the strong blow to the occipital area”, among other injuries.

As usual, Daniel Sancho himself has been able to ask the witnesses and on this occasion he has asked one of the forensic experts if the blows present on Arrieta’s skull occurred “before or after” death of the Colombian surgeon. The coroner has not hesitated to point out that they occurred “before the death” of the victim.

After the lunch break, it was the turn of the lieutenant colonel of the Thai police Somsak Norua key testimony because he was in charge of interrogating Sancho between August 5 and 6, just after his arrest on the island of Koh Phangan.
