Marsol says that the fired Peruvians will be offered work

Andorra la VellaThe construction company that was in the media spotlight following the labor abuses suffered by Peruvian workers would have fired them all, more than twenty, according to reports RTVA. Lorenzo Castillo, president of the ‘Peruanos en Andorra’ association, attributes the farewells to the fact that they have publicly exposed their conditions. The workers came from Peru and, without work, they are helpless. Castillo calls the situation “abandonment”. The president of the association is in contact with the citizen’s ombudsman, who prepares a file to present to the prosecutor’s office.

Conxita Marsol, Minister of the Presidency, Economy, Work and Housing, assures that she has no record of the dismissals, but that some of the cases of labor abuse have already reached the prosecutor’s office. In addition, he explains that ex officio inspections have been made and will be made with the aim of eradicating practices of this type. The Government even spoke to the representative of the Peruvian residents to tell him that those who had the papers in order should bring all the documentation and prove their experience because they would be placed in other jobs such as at least for a season to find them work in Andorra. That way, they could be redone so they could leave.
