leaked list of directors for season 5

It’s been over 10 years since Frank Darabont created, wrote and directed his last projectthe Serie Mob City, since then he has moved away from film and television waiting to be able to carry out those projects he longed for. And it’s not because he hasn’t tried. In 2021, Hollywood rejected one of his scripts for one of Stanley Kubrick’s projects that were left in limbo, causing the American to withdraw even more towards his family and decide to continue taking time away from the industry, at least until now.

The filmmaker behind some of the best film adaptations of Stephen King’s work, including The fog, Life sentence and The green Mile (for which he even received three Oscar nominations), would have confirmed his return to directing in two of the episodes of the final season of Stranger Things.

The first information suggests that this fifth season would have eight episodes, while the Duffer brothers, creators of the fiction, would have had Darabont to direct episodes 3 and 5. Among the rest of the directors behind the new chapters, names like that of Shawn Levywho will soon release Deadpool and Wolverine.

These data were shared by Jeff Sneiderthe journalist Los Angeles Magazine that in the past he already gave us numerous exclusives and that he published it in your Twitter accountalthough he was horrified by pointing out that Netflix has yet to confirm it.

“UNCONFIRMED episode titles of Stranger Things T5 (subject to change):

503: Turbow’s Trap – Frank Darabont

504: Sorcerer – Duffers

505: Shock Jock – Darabont

506: Escape from Camazotz – Shawn Levy

507:? – Probably the Duffers

508: ? – Definitely the Duffers.”

Frank Darabont and the Hollywood blacklist

Apparently, the complaint that the initial showrunner of The Walking Dead filed against the AMC television network, after placing behind the first two seasons, would have been the reason why Darabont was included in a Hollywood blacklist from which the Duffer brothers could get him out once and for all. And even more so after the courts ruled in favor, so AMC had to pay up to $200 million to the creator.

This complaint occurred after, at its premiere in 2010, The Walking Dead became the first series that AMC distributed while producing (other famous titles such as Mad Men either Breaking Bad were sponsored by outside studies), a situation that made it go through enormous pressure for those responsible, on behalf of the reduction of the budget and the requirement to have all the scripts before filming, causing numerous conflicts between Darabont and the chain.

Beyond the television universe, Darabont has not directed a film since 2007, so his arrival at Stranger Things could open up new possibilities for the French-born director. His influence as one of the most acclaimed screenwriters of recent decades, even advising Steven Spielberg on the script of films like Saving Private Ryan either Minority Reportcontinues more present than ever.
