Both Charlotte Flair & John Cena Spotted In France
John Cena and Charlotte Flair have reportedly been seen in France this week, which has instantly sparked rumors about the possibility of the two WWE legends appearing at the upcoming PLE.
According to PWInsider.com, the two multi-time champions are in France with the company, and a fan even shared a picture of themselves with Cena, claiming to be in Nice, France. However, the report has not given any hints as to whether people can expect to see them at WWE Backlash.

Considering it tends to take place post WrestleMania, WWE’s Backlash events have often featured amazing cards.
Whether either of them turns up remains to be seen, but Cena does have a history of making surprise appearances at European events. Cena turned up as a surprise at WWE’s Money In The Bank in London, England last year where he teased the possibility of WWE WrestleMania taking place in the country one day.
Where Have Both Of Them Been Lately?
Cena last appeared quite recently for a one-off cameo at WWE WrestleMania 40 as he was involved in the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. He turned up again the night after on WWE Raw to team with Awesome Truth as a surprise for the fans.
Apart from that, his last full-time run was toward the end of 2023 when he was involved with The Bloodline. During that time he teamed with LA Knight to compete against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso before going on to lose against Sikoa at WWE’s Crown Jewel.
When it comes to Flair, she last wrestled in early December on WWE SmackDown against her long-time rival Asuka. During that match, she suffered a serious knee injury that saw her tear her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, and since then she’s been off television rehabbing and getting back to full fitness.
While the injury was expected to keep her out of action for nine months, stranger things have happened in WWE with some of Cena’s returns from injuries being an example of that. Flair has been consistently sharing regular updates of her recovery process where she’s been impressing people with just how far along she is.
But whether she’s ready to make an in-ring return remains to be seen, nor is it clear as to whether Cena would be part of the show. Neither are advertised ahead of time, nor have there been any reports of them being expected to appear. Whether it’s a sign of things to come or just a coincidence now remains to be seen.
