- With Uso sidelined, creative challenge to place him, potential new Bloodline members.
Fightful Select is reporting that a key member of the WWE roster Jimmy Uso is being kept a free agent heading into the WWE Draft which begins on Friday and finishes Monday on Raw. WWE released the rules of the draft and the eligible stars, noting that current champions would be protected. Conspicuous by his absence was Jimmy Uso, who is not a champion but other members of The Bloodline were listed as eligible to be drafted.
The reason Jimmy Uso is being kept out of the draft is because of an injury. While the nature and severity of the injury isn’t clear, it must be long enough that throwing him into the draft with no clear plan didn’t make much sense. The easier thing to do was keep him a free agent and let him eventually go where the storyline best served. He’ll be kept as a “free agent” until his return, whenever that may be.
It’s likely that The Bloodline stays on SmackDown, while Jey becomes the main babyface star on Raw. Knowing where to put Jimmy becomes a challenge based on the ever-changing narrative surrounding the new-look Bloodline and new members that may join, potentially as early as Friday night.
Also not availabe drafter are Damian Priest, Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn, Miz, and R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Logan Paul, Grayson Waller, and Austin Theory. The Women’s Tag Team Champions can be selected because there is only one set of women’s titles and they will likely be defended on both brands.

It appears that Jimmy Uso had to do some mid-match parenting at WWE WrestleMania 40.
Jimmy Uso Is Likely Taking Some Time Away
When Jimmy was attacked by Tama Tonga, Paul Heyman was asked him Uso was doing and the answer was, “not good.” That was the first hint that Jimmy was dealing with potentially more than a storyline injury. Being written out of the show made sense from a creative standpoint. Bringing him back and keeping it a surprise on either side makes sense as well. It’s not clear if WWE will explain his absence during the draft or if they’ll simply leave in unaddressed.
Uso hasn’t competed since Night One of WrestleMania 40, where he lost in a singles match to Jey Uso. He interfered in the main event on Night Two, only to be speared off the entrance ramp through a table. It could have been there that he was injured.
