I’m very thin with a naturally big bust & wore an inappropriate dress to my friend’s wedding – I regretted it instantly

ONE busty wedding guest was feeling bewildered after realizing she might have looked a bit out of place on her friend’s big day.

She knew she had made the wrong dress decision even before hearing how disapproving the bride was of her attire.

DRESS DISASTER

“I attended my friend’s wedding and heard back from other friends that the bride thought my dress was inappropriate for the wedding,” said the Reddit user.

The damage was already done, and she knew it right away.

“The wedding was held in a ballroom in a hotel at night. To be honest, I think I dressed inappropriately too,” she added.

She explained how unlike the other female guests, who were mostly wearing maxi length dresses and long jumpsuits, she had opted for a “much shorter” green frock.

“I regret wearing the dress,” she said.

“I don’t recall any dress code mentioned on the invitations, but maybe it’s something that is implicitly understood,” she added.

The attire in question was an Asos petite sweetheart babydoll mini swing dress.

The dress, which falls above the knees, is described as featuring a ruffle trim, and zip-back fastening.

It is also made of smooth woven fabric that doesn’t stretch.

While her friends didn’t hold back on their feelings, the bride still hadn’t said anything to her directly.

FORGIVE AND FROCK-ET

She also made clear that she didn’t dress inappropriately on purpose, she simply wasn’t aware of any restrictions.

Still reeling from the incident, she asked other uses if they thought she should reach out to her friend and apologize.

“I’m very thin but have a naturally big bust. I don’t think I looked too sexy honestly. My chest was fully covered. I don’t know,” she clarified in the comments section.

“I don’t think you need to apologize, but if it makes you feel better, I say go for it,” wrote one user.

“If it were me, I’d explain to her that you weren’t aware that your dress was going to be viewed as inappropriate and that you meant no harm,” she added.

“I’m sure that she will understand, and if she doesn’t, it’s not worth worrying over.”

“Yes, I think I’m going do that. Just send her a text with an apology,” she responded.

Some readers offered a different suggestion.

“Better call than text, that way, by the tone of her voice, you will know her true reaction,” said one user.

Others seemed to think that the reactions were worse than the dress.

“It might have been a bit more casual than expected for the venue, but at least it wasn’t white, cream, or ivory in color!” said one reader.

“Honestly, don’t worry about it. I think it’s kind of mean that your friends made you feel bad,” another agreed.

“Do not feel embarrassed! I think you dressed fine,” a third user chimed in.
