He said: “A cloudy start with some showers in Northeast and light showers and cloud will move South this morning with good sunny spells following behind for afternoon and evening.

“Getting up to 15C today also.”

Met Eireann’s Mark Bowe said: “Well high pressure firmly in charge of next couple of days so we’re going to see plenty of dry weather.

“It will be cloudy at times but our temperatures will be in the mid to high teens as well.

“We’ll just take a look at a later satellite pictures, plenty of cloud just at east but further to the west it’s largely clear and that’s because we have a large area of high pressure now it is slow moving and will be with us for the next few days.”

Today will have a “dull start with isolated drizzle”.

Cloud cover will ease as the day goes on, with sun shine developing by evening.

The forecaster said that there will be “high pressure firmly in charge” with a good mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells.

He said: “Quite a cloudy start across the country but it’s really later in the day we’ll see good sunny spells developing cross the afternoon and evening.

“It will stay largely dry as well. Now temperatures too are looking around 11C to 14C or so.”

Tonight will bring little or no wind with temperatures falling to 0C to 4C.

Tomorrow will be “dry and mainly sunny”.

Mark said: “A bit more cloudy in parts of Munster and a mixture of cloudy periods and sunny spells elsewhere with the best of the sunshine really across parts of Leinster, with temperatures of 12C to 14C.

Sunday will bring a mix of cloud and sunshine.

He added: “Well a good mix of scattered clouds and sunny spells across the entire country again, the best of the sunshine right across Leinster, with temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.”

It will be dry Sunday night with lows of 3C to 5C.

Monday will be another dry day with sunshine.

Highest temperatures will range from 12C or 13C in the north but raise up to 17C in the south.
