Granada toughens sanctions for bachelor parties this Friday with fines of up to 750 euros

Grenade will definitively approve this Friday the new ordinance of measures to promote and guarantee coexistence in public spaces. The objective is none other than to provide the city with a more appropriate regulatory framework to address the problems caused by the celebration of bachelor party and bottles.

The approval in the Plenary Session of the City Council, in which the PPis included in the agenda of the session, along with the resolution of the allegations, which completes the modification of the coexistence ordinance.

The Councilor for Citizen Protection and Mobility, Ana Agudo, indicated last week that the new ordinance “classifies and toughens” the sanctions to stop conduct and behaviors contrary to citizens’ rest with fines of up to 750 euros.

The punishment will be classified as light for people who walk down the street without clothes, wear outfits or costumes with xenophobic, racist or homophonic content, use sound or image amplification devices without authorization and carry out bottles and consume alcohol on public roads.

Likewise, it incorporates a new section referring to the regulation and punishment of “conduct contrary to the minimum behavioral guidelines generally accepted in the use and enjoyment of public spaces by the plurality of people existing in the city”.

The new regulations establish a framework of regulation and control to address in Granada the “casuistry generated by bachelor parties and large bottles”, while providing information to citizens about the “attitudes, behaviors and actions that are not recommended in our city in the development of this type of celebrations.”

The municipal government thus completes the processing of the new regulatory framework that started last August and that after passing the different administrative procedures will come into force once approved in Plenary and published in the Official Gazette of the Province. He PSOE has announced that it will vote in favor despite considering that the ordinance needs another update.

Once the new ordinance is approved, the Granada Local Police or the competent municipal services, will initially limit themselves to reminding people who fail to comply with the rule that these practices are prohibited. If people persist in their attitude, the corresponding sanctioning procedure would be initiated with a category of minor infraction, between 1 and 750 euros. The agents may intervene precautionarily in the means used.
