GREEN-FINGERED Brits are raving about an Aldi bargain that they claim will banish grim ”dirt and moss” from your grubby patio on the cheap.

With summer just around the corner, many of us have been spending time making our gardens look more presentable – and if you’re on a mission to give your dirty patio a glow-up, then best keep reading.

Although one of the easiest solutions is using a jet washer, these can oftentimes be costly – but luckily, there are plenty of alternatives, and one of them can be found in your local Aldi.

According to gardening enthusiasts from the popular Gardening On A Budget Official group on Facebook, green-fingered shoppers can use a common laundry essential for their patios – washing powder.

Yes, that’s right, one member of the page explained how she uses the laundry must-have to tackle the grim dirt, without forking out a fortune.

The cleaning fanatic explained: ”I’ve used Aldi washing powder in hot water and brushed on with a stiff broom.

”Removed months of dirt and moss,” the gardening lover claimed.

Keen to give this hack a go? The discount retailer offers a wide range of washing powders, selling for £3.95 for a 2kg bag.

Whether you want to make your outdoor space smell like a tropical holiday or a sunny meadow, there’s a scent for everyone – shoppers can purchase Almat Biological Washing Powder in Coconut Crush, Lavender & Jasmine, Tropical Lily to name a few.

Fellow members of the page raced to share their thoughts, with one writing: ”I’ve heard cheap soap powder works.”

Another chimed in with an alternative: ”Astonish Mould & Mildew remover.

”Spray everywhere leave for about 30 mins & jet wash, best stuff ever.”

A third instructed: ”Dampen, sprinkle cheap bio washing powder and wait for rain or re-wet. Didn’t need to brush mine, it just disappeared.”

There were also other suggestions, including Elbow Grease mixed with some water, as well as spraying Wet & Forget to tackle the grime.

How to clean your patio with The Pink Stuff in 3 steps: 

1. Apply The Pink Stuff 

Take a little scoop of the paste and apply directly onto the slab or mix it with water according to the manufacturer’s instructions. 

Then, using a scrub brush or sponge, apply the cleaning solution to your patio, ensuring to cover the entire surface.

2. Scrub the patio slabs 

Once you’ve applied the Pink Stuff, it’s time to start scrubbing the area to get rid of the dirt.

For this step, use a stiff-bristled brush to scrub the surface, paying extra attention to any areas with stubborn stains.

3. Rinse and dry 

After you’ve finished scrubbing your patio, you can now rinse the slabs off.

Use a hose or bucket of water, making sure to remove all traces of Pink Stuff from the surface of your slabs. 

Finally, allow your patio to air dry completely.
