‘Tank’ Claims Mayweather Can’t Leave Dubai
In a video shared on Friday morning, Mayweather’s remarks, though not directly addressing Davis, were interpreted by the latter as aimed at him. Mayweather emphasized the sacrifices he made during his career, implying that some fighters are focused on the wrong aspects of fame and fortune.
“A lot of times what these fighters are looking at – they’re looking Floyd with the cars, they’re looking at Floyd being flashy. Man listen, I made so many sacrifices. Y’all are looking at the end results. “And as champion, having hundreds of millions in the bank, I still was on my grind in that gym. Y’all are worried about your outfits, how your boots look, worried about the wrong things. A lot of you fighters are living cheque to cheque.”
Perceiving Mayweather’s comments as a personal attack, Davis retaliated on Instagram, alleging that Mayweather is unable to leave Dubai due to financial disputes with undisclosed parties. Davis’s fiery response included a direct accusation, labeling Mayweather a “hater” and insinuating financial mismanagement.
The online feud escalated further when a Twitter user suggested Mayweather might be “held hostage” in Dubai, prompting Davis to assert that Mayweather owes money to individuals and is consequently unable to leave the country.
The allegations made by Davis hint at underlying financial tensions between the two boxing figures, adding a layer of intrigue to their already contentious relationship.
Mayweatheris yet to officially respond to the accusations.

Gervonta Davis And Floyd Mayweather’s Rocky Relationship
The Pair Have Boxers Have Feuded And Made Up Many Times
Davis, once Floyd Mayweather’s protégé and a key figure under his Mayweather Promotions banner, saw their relationship sour following his ascension to world champion status in 2017. The tension eventually led to Davis’s departure from Mayweather Promotions in late 2022, opting to pursue his career independently with the guidance of his existing adviser, Al Haymon.
Throughout their five-year partnership before the split, Davis and Mayweather alternated between moments of camaraderie, presenting a united front, and periods of evident discord, marked by public jabs through media channels or online platforms.
In a notable incident last year, while preparing for his bout against Ryan Garcia, Davis accused Mayweather of ejecting him from his gym, hindering his training regimen. Despite this rift, Mayweather reappeared in support of Davis during the fight itself, ultimately joining in the celebrations of Davis’s victory.
