Taking to social media following the defeat, Haney extended a sportsmanlike gesture, expressing his desire for a fair rematch under agreed-upon weight conditions. Haney, however, dismissed rumors of a broken jaw and hinted at a possible return to the ring before the year’s end.
“Ryan, despite the circumstances was victorious that night and that’s fine. I do feel like weight played a role in it but only Allah knows. I would love to run it back and give the fans a FAIR fight within an agreed weight.”

Ryan Garcia revealed that he has fooled the public in a recent interview.
While Garcia verbally committed to a rematch post-victory, he quickly reversed his stance in a subsequent interview. In addition, Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya responded to Haney and said there will not be a rematch, writing in his IG comment section, “Good luck with Eddie but there will not be a rematch. Good luck in your career and good luck with Eddie a European promoter trying to make it in the US.”
Haney, retaining his world title belt due to Garcia’s weight discrepancy, will likely fight his mandatory Sandor Martin at the end of the year.
