All those earning less than £35,000 a year will get six per cent extra, while those who get more than that will receive 5.5 per cent.

An insider said: “It’s easy to forget how hard people work behind the scenes at the Palace but the King’s not done so.

“He and Camilla have had a lot to be worried about with his cancer diagnosis but clearly he’s thinking about others too.

“This is a real morale boost for staff.”

The hike follows a cost of living, heating and mortgage grant, which Charles funded from his reserves in 2022. Staff received up to £600.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the pay rise.

KING Charles has no firm plans yet to meet Prince Harry during his visit to London — but will try to see his son if he can.

Harry is set to attend an Invictus Games ceremony on Wednesday at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Charles is due to be at a garden party at Buckingham Palace and meet with the PM that day.

A source confirmed the King “has a busy diary on Wednesday”.

They added: “There are no firm plans in place at the moment on a meeting between them.”
