Palatine GAA has this evening announced some exciting news – their club is about to get a whole lot bigger.
On social media Palatine announced that the club has finalised the purchase of 12.5 acres of land beside their current facilities at Bennekerry, adding that “huge work” had gone into making this dream a reality.
“As anyone who is involved with our wonderful club well knows, space has been at a premium for many years. The club continues to expand and playing numbers, male and female, adult and juvenile, is at an all time high. We have been struggling to cope with allocating pitch time for our various teams for training and matches.
That struggle is over,” the club said.
“We are delighted to announce that the club has finalised the purchase of circa 12.5 acres of land beside our current facilities this evening. We have been striving to acquire more land for a long time and when opportunity presented itself, our Executive certainly wasn’t found wanting. Huge work has gone into this over the recent past and we have reached our destination today. The land is ours.”
