STUDENTS and teachers from the make-up course in Carlow Institute scooped seven gongs recently at the Professional Beauty and Hair awards in the RDS, Dublin.
In the student section, Biana Bidi stole the limelight, clinching top spot in the catwalk category, while Louise O’Brien demonstrated her prowess by securing second place in the student character category.
The body painting student category saw Lorraine DeFaoite securing the winning position, closely followed by runner-up Ciara McGrath.
However, success didn’t stop at the student level. Carlow Institute’s faculty members shone brightly in the professional categories, too. Sara Ashmore Kehoe emerged victorious in the creative front cover category, showcasing her exceptional skills and creativity. Danielle Fitzgerald, another teacher at the institute, exhibited her mastery by clinching two wins in both the body paint and character categories.
The competition, open to both students and professionals, attracted top-notch talent from across the region. With a judging panel comprising industry experts such as James Mac, Paddy McGurgan, Ciara O’Shea and Cathyanne MacAllister, competition was fierce, making the accolades earned by Carlow Institute even more commendable.
