Zapatero affirms that the mobilization in Ferraz is due to indignation: “We have 48 hours”

The former president of the Government and former leader of the PSOE José Luis Rodríguez Shoemaker has stated that the mobilization of support for his successor Pedro Sanchez before the headquarters of PSOE It is not because of sentimentality or militancy, but because indignation: “We have 48 hours to achieve the launch so that Illa be president and for Pedro to continue in Moncloa.”

“Our reaction is democratic patriotismbecause we want democratic politics in Spain to resemble what the vast majority of Spaniards are: respectful, educated and tolerant,” he said this Saturday at a PSC rally in Tarragona together with the candidate for Tarragona, Rosa Maria Ibarra, and the mayor, Rubén Viñuales.

Zapatero has urged the mobilization to continue “in the face of so much attack and insult” so that Sánchez continue at the head of the Government and has literally criticized anger, insult, harassment and attempted personal destruction.

ERC, Junts and bishops

The former president thanked those who supported the investiture and now support the president (he cited Together and CKD) even if they do not have the ideology of the socialists and are independentists: “Yes, we must thank you. This counts in life, right? It counts because it shows who you are: that you know how to be grateful.”

Zapatero has also referred to the bishops who demonstrated against the Equal Marriage Law, alleging that the norm destroyed families: “Someone could come out now to say that they respect the family of the President of the Government.”

Illa and “the verb unite”

On the other hand, he has advocated for “a improvement in Catalonia” to address education, health, environmental sustainability, drought and coexistence in the face of immigration. “When you govern, you don’t discuss the country and what we are,” said the former president, who has assured that he admires the PSC candidate, Salvador Illa, because he considers him a good and noble person.

“I admire someone who conjugates, compared to any other verb, the verb unite. I admire someone who does not insult, someone who respects, someone who builds, someone who explains, someone who has that calmness. That’s why I admire Salvador Illa“, has added.
