WWE Wrestlers Triple H Gave Up On

Following the formation of TKO and Vince McMahon’s resignation, Triple H has taken over as Head of Creative for WWE. In his time in charge, “The Game” has made a number of phenomenal, well-needed changes to the product. He has truly ushered in a new era for WWE.

For many WWE fans and wrestling fans in general, the overall quality of WWE’s television shows has increased a great deal, with better storylines, better in-ring action, and an overall increase in interest with the product. While Triple H has made a number of great choices as WWE’s booker, he has seemingly let a number of WWE Superstars lose stock within the company, as these are some wrestlers within WWE that Triple H has given up on.

Thus far, the Triple H era in WWE has produced some of the very best WWE television that fans have seen in years. From The Bloodline to the rise of The Judgment Day, Triple H has done a truly phenomenal job at giving talent great stories and matches. However, while there are many who done great under new leadership, some are stuck in the same positions that they were before. They lack direction or have not been on TV altogether. All of the people on this list have talent, however, for whatever reason, they have not been given an opportunity yet under Triple H’s creative direction. While that could change for some, it is not a guarantee for all.

Michin Has All The Potential To Be A Top Star

This Is Her Second Run In WWE

• Michin’s first run with WWE lasted from 2014-2021.
• She resigned in 2022.
• She has previously wrestled for TNA.

Michin really does have everything it takes to be a top star in WWE. She is a tremendous wrestler and, when given the proper platform, she truly shines. However, her recent string of luck in WWE hasn’t been the best. She has often been on the losing side of matches, such as against Bianca Belair and Tiffany Stratton. An alliance with the OC didn’t do too much for her either. There still is time for Michin’s WWE career to recover and for her to do more on the main roster to really shine.

Pretty Deadly Haven’t Done Much In A Long Time

They’ve Just Become Another Team On SmackDown

• They are former NXT Tag Team Champions.
• The team is made up of Elton Prince and Kit Wilson.
• They began their careers in NXT UK.

Before continuing, it is important to state that Pretty Deadly are an extremely talented tag team. They are great at what they do and have a tremendous amount of talent between the two of them. However, their most notable moment as of late wasn’t even because the story was revolving around them. They competed in a tag team match against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton that was meant to further the feud between those two and Logan Paul. It would be good to see Pretty Deadly have a more solid and direct as to where their characters are going on SmackDown.

Apollo Crews Has Been Completely Forgotten About

He Hasn’t Done Anything Relevant In Years

• Crews had two stints in NXT.
• He is a former United States and Intercontinental Champion.
• He is a RAW roster member.

Apollo Crews was drafted back up to RAW in 2023, and after a stint back down in NXT, he was hoping for a career resurgence. He has done essentially nothing since coming back to the main roster. This is especially unfortunate since Crews is a former United States and Intercontinental Champion in WWE.

He has managed to only make it onto the show a few times, losing each and every time. He has been relegated to mostly competing on Main Event.

Nikki Cross Has Had No Real Direction In WWE

She Hasn’t Been Seen On WWE TV In Months

• Nikki Cross hasn’t appeared on TV in five months.
• She last wrestled on the 11/6/2024 RAW.
• She had undergone a gimmick change before she was absent.

Throughout her years in WWE, Nikki Cross has constantly been seen as a big-time fan favorite. When fans last saw her, she was going through this strange stalker gimmick which saw her have a poker face in every match and seemingly not caring about anything. However, she hasn’t been seen for nearly half a year on television. Despite being backstage at tapings, it seems like Triple H has no clue where to take Cross’ character and what will happen with her next.

Cameron Grimes Became An Afterthought

The NXT Standout Has Not Excelled On The Main Roster

• Grimes was a popular star on NXT.
• He is a former NXT North American Champion.
• He defeated Baron Corbin on his SmackDown debut.

Cameron Grimes spent some time on the sidelines due to WWE not having any plans for him. When he debuted on SmackDown, it quickly became apparent that WWE still had no concrete plans in place.

He was lost in the shuffle almost immediately. He has hardly been able to showcase the charisma that made him so likable in NXT, and even in the ring, he hasn’t been given many opportunities. It’s clear to everyone that Triple H has given up on him already, with his last match being a quick squash to Bron Breakker.

Tegan Nox Has Had No Real Direction

She Was In A Meaningless Tag Team With Natalya

• Nox wrestled for WWE first from 2017-2021.
• She returned to the promotion in 2022.
• She had been in a tag team with Natalya.

The story of Tegan Nox in WWE is truly unfortunate. Throughout her career, Nox had to deal with a torn ACL in 2021 and was released by WWE that same year. While she was brough back in 2022, she has still not been given any truly meaningful storylines while in WWE. She quickly became lost in the shuffle, and with Natalya currently competing in NXT, it seems like there is going to continue to be no direction for Nox going forward in 2024.

Cedric Alexander Used To Be At The Top

The Former Crusierweight Classic Standout Has Been Left Behind In WWE

• Alexander has been with WWE since 2016.
• He is a former RAW Tag Team Champion with Shelton Benjamin.
• He is a member of the SmackDown roster.

There was a point in time where fans really wanted to see Cedric Alexander rise to the top of WWE. He was even reached out to by Triple H personally after he was eliminated from the Cruiserweight Classic. However, fast-forward to 2024 and Alexander has been stuck without direction ever since the far too early demise of The Hurt Business. While he has been shown to be in an alliance with Ashante Thee Adonis, this team hasn’t ever been seen on a televised SmackDown match. It feels like Alexander’s potential is truly being wasted in the undercard of WWE.

Dexter Lumis Hasn’t Been Seen In Months

He Hasn’t Been Seen Since Last May

• Lumis hasn’t been on WWE television since 2023.
• He was involved in a feud with The Miz.
• He helped Indi Hartwell become NXT Women’s Champion.

Returning to WWE during the second half of 2022, Dexter Lumis may be a name that some fans say was always destined to be a lower card act, however, the company went out of their way to portray him as a bigger name during his return angle, which would then spiral into a multi-month feud between Lumis, The Miz, and Johnny Gargano.

It remains to be seen where exactly Dexter Lumis will go from here in WWE, but there is a severe lack of urgency or care surrounding the former NXT standout booking that it feels as if the time has past to do anything of note with him.

Tamina Has Been Forgotten About For A Long Time

She Hasn’t Done Anything Of Note For Years

• Tamina signed with WWE in 2010.
• She is a former 24/7 Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion.
• She is currently on SmackDown.

Tamina has competed throughout various eras of WWE’s history. However, most her career has seen her supporting other people. She was the manager for The Usos when she first entered WWE. She was the enforcer for AJ Lee. However, she hasn’t been able to capitalize on her own. This was a trend that began before Triple H’s time as Head of Creative. Unfortunately for Tamina, it seems like this will be a trend that continues to be seen for her as well.

Zoey Stark Hasn’t Done Much Since Splitting From Trish Stratus

She Has Gotten Lost In The Shuffle

At one point, Zoey Stark seemed like she was being geared up to be a star in WWE. She was aligned with Trish Stratus in a great feud with Becky Lynch. She challenged Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title. However, it feels like Stark has often been stuck playing second fiddle to everyone else that she is involved in a program with. There is no doubt that she is a tremendous athlete, however, she hasn’t been given that much to work with in terms of really breaking out as a top singles star in WWE.

The Unholy Union Haven’t Been Seen On SmackDown

They Are Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions

• Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn form the Unholy Alliance.
• Fyre is a former NXT UK Women’s Champion.
• They are former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, collectively known as The Unholy Union, are another example of a tremendous NXT tag team that has been forgotten on the main roster. They debuted in strong enough fashion, challenging Ronday Rousey and Shayna Baszler to a unification match of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title and NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. They could also do a lot to help the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to become more prestigious than they are now. However, neither of them have been seen since before Elimination Chamber: Perth. Hopefully they get their chance to shine at some point soon.

The Good Brothers Haven’t Excelled On Their Own

They Need AJ Styles To Have Any Direction

• Anderson and Gallows have been teaming since 2013.
• They are multi-time champions in WWE, TNA, and NJPW.
• They have been competing in NXT.

Returning to WWE in controversial fashion, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows would return to WWE while Anderson was still holding a championship in New Japan. Hardcore WWE fans used this as a way to argue that New Japan and WWE were working together. However, nothing would come of this aside from Anderson working two final NJPW shows to drop his NEVER Openweight Championship.

Back in WWE, the tag team would align with AJ Styles to reform The O.C. and would also recruit Mia Yim to join the group. With Styles going down with an ankle injury, Gallows & Anderson would vanish from the spotlight, wrestling on Main Event and NXT. Without AJ Styles, the two seem to mean nothing to WWE and lack any direction or importance.

Ashante Thee Adonis Hasn’t Done Anything In WWE

He Is In A Pointless Tag Team With Cedric Alexander

• Adonis was a former member of Hit Row.
• He was released in 2021.
• He competes on SmackDown.

While Cedric Alexander has at least had some success while in WWE, the same cannot be said for Ashante Thee Adonis. He has been released once by WWE and was most recently brought back in 2022. However, his time in WWE has been marked by playing a secondary character in Hit Row when compared to the other members of the group, such as B-Fab, Top Dolla, and Swerve Strickland. It is unlikely that a random tag team with Alexander will help, as they haven’t done anything on WWE since they were announced as a duo. While Alexander could recover, it seems like Adonis will likely not.
