WWE Main Roster Stars Who Should Join NXT In The 2024 Draft

The 2024 WWE draft is right around the corner, and it has been reported that WWE NXT will play a role in things this year. The company has been sending main roster stars to the black and gold brand for one-off matches and short storylines for a while now, therefore it makes sense that main roster stars would move there in the draft.

It’s a decision that, if used correctly, can have a brilliant impact. Not only can the right wrestlers bring more eyes to WWE NXT every week, but they can also help wrestlers switch things up or hit the refresh button. The likes of Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, and Becky Lynch all benefited from going to the developmental brand, and several others would be good options to do the same.

Shinsuke Nakamura Needs A Refresh

He Could Be A Main Event Star In WWE NXT

Shinsuke Nakamura has been on cruise control for far too long in WWE, with the company not getting the best out of him. He’s a solid midcard act on the main roster, and WWE has settled him into a role where he will just be used to put over talent when needed in a similar way to how Dolph Ziggler was used.

Rather than just having him tread water, WWE would be better off putting him back in WWE NXT where he can be used as a main event name. His star power would be a great addition to the show and would truly get the best out of Nakamura as a performer.

Akira Tozawa Could Become A Serious Character Again

It’s Time To Showcase His In-Ring Talent

Akira Tozawa is an incredible professional wrestler who is capable of putting on amazing matches, but fans have rarely seen that in WWE. Tozawa is typically used for comedic purposes nowadays, and while he’s brilliant at that WWE could get so much more out of him.

Tozawa is a terrific striker, but can also throw in aerial moves as well that bring a lot of energy to his matches. With the future of Alpha Academy up in the air after Chad Gable’s heel turn, now would be a good time to move Tozawa to WWE NXT, letting him become a more serious character in the process.

Nikki Cross Has Been Stuck For Too Long

She’s Not Being Used On The Main Roster

When it comes to moving main roster wrestlers to WWE NXT, choosing people who barely get any television time is the best use of the possibility. In WWE NXT they would actually be used, and that is a situation that would benefit Nikki Cross at this point in her career.

Cross has proven herself to be an entertaining character and brilliant wrestler, but she’s currently struggling to get television time on the main roster. Rather than having her just sit in catering, WWE would be better off using her regularly on television with her experience likely to be helpful for the young wrestlers as well.

Tegan Nox Could Benefit From A Restart

Her Past WWE NXT Run Was A Success

Tegan Nox is an excellent wrestler who brings a lot of fire and passion to the ring. She works well as a babyface that fans can gravitate toward, but her second run in WWE isn’t going to plan on the main roster due to a lack of television time and commitment from the creative department.

If she was to make a WWE NXT return she’d likely be given a lot more focus. Seeing her get promo time and genuine storylines to invest her time in would get Nox back on track which would be beneficial for everyone involved.

Cameron Grimes Isn’t Being Used On The Main Roster

He’s Too Talented To Sit Backstage

Cameron Grimes’ initial run in WWE NXT was a huge hit. He worked as a heel and a babyface, he put together great matches, entertaining storylines, and comedic moments. He was massively over, but his main roster run has been a complete disaster due to the lack of opportunities he’s been provided.

It’s a shame how things have worked out because Grimes has a lot of versatility that can allow him to be plugged into various storylines at any time. Considering how character-driven WWE NXT is right now it is easy to see how Grimes would thrive.

Ricochet Could Gain Some Main Event Experience

He’d Be A Brilliant NXT Champion

Ricochet had a great run the first time he was in WWE NXT, but if he was to return now he would do so as a much bigger star. He’s been used frequently on the main roster, but reaching the heights of the main event scene is something that he’s been unable to achieve.

He has the in-ring talent to do so, and now there are two World titles on the main roster the potential is there. However, another run in WWE NXT working at that level could give him the experience needed to achieve that.

Cedric Alexander Could Thrive In WWE NXT

His Fast-Paced Style Would Be A Hit

Ever since The Hurt Business came to an end WWE has struggled to give Cedric Alexander anything meaningful to do. It’s a serious waste of his in-ring ability because he’s a tremendous wrestler who always puts on great matches when given the opportunity.

WWE NXT might be focusing on the future, but the young wrestlers are often given a lot of time to showcase their in-ring skills. He would flourish working against people like Axiom, being able to truly showcase what he’s capable of between the ropes.
