Cody Rhodes Is Set To Act
It has been confirmed that the American Nightmare is going to have a role in the upcoming “Naked Gun” reboot. According to Daily Mail, Rhodes is set for a “significant cameo” in the comedic movie which will mark his Hollywood debut.
Rhodes could apparently be hypnotized as part of the role, which would be a nod to the original 1988 movie, and he will get to star alongside some major stars. Both Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are confirmed to be part of the cast, and there is a chance that Rhodes will be playing himself in this.
10 Movies & TV Shows (& What They Got Wrong About Wrestling)
Wrestling has had a long fight to be respected by the mainstream media. These famous movies & TV shows got some things wrong about pro wrestling.
Akiva Schaffer is set to direct the movie, which will mark a big step in Rhodes’ continued journey of success. While this is going to be his first movie role, the WWE Champion does have some acting experience having played Kurt Smoller in “Warehouse 13” and as Derek Sampson in “Arrow” where he worked alongside his long-time friend Stephen Amell.
Will It Impact His WWE Schedule?
Of course, filming a movie can take time and while Rhodes isn’t one of the lead roles the fact his part is set to have a significant impact could lead to him being required on set a lot. Previously fans have had to deal with wrestlers being pulled for long periods from WWE television to shoot various projects, which is one of the main reasons neither John Cena nor The Rock are able to commit much time to the company.
However, it is currently unknown when shooting is going to begin for “Naked Gun,” or how much time, if any, Rhodes will be required to miss from television.
For now, his focus will remain on WWE and putting together a memorable run as champion. The American Nightmare will be defending his newly won title for the first time at WWE Backlash in Lyon, France where he will compete against AJ Styles in singles action for the first time in history.
