This time, the Meta application has begun to develop a tool with which it will restrict the sending of messages to accounts that violate its terms of use, such as those that share spam and mass or automated messaging. Specifically, this function called ‘account restriction’ consists of a temporary locking system, in which users will not be able to start new conversations for a certain period of time for violating the terms of use.
However, the specialized newspaper WABetaInfo indicates that “restricted users will still be able to receive messages and respond to them from existing chats and groups.” Additionally, “by restricting accounts rather than banning them entirely, WhatsApp offers users the opportunity to correct your behavior without losing access to their data completely.
Basically, the ‘account restriction’ feature wants to address “problematic behavior” without permanently banning users from using WhatsApp. Likewise, the objective of this novelty is to promote the responsible use of the platform, guaranteeing that all individuals can communicate without spam or mass messaging.
And, on the other hand, regarding its availability, this novelty is not yet ready for beta testers and expected to come to the general app in a future update.

This technique is used by cybercriminals in the platform’s video calls to be able to have control of user accounts. It all starts with a video call, in which the cyber criminal claims to have some type of technical difficulty such as, for example, the camera does not show the image.
Trusting that the person who is on the video call believes that this can solve the problem, the scammer encourages you to press the share screen button. In addition, it makes you believe that screen sharing will be what solves the camera problem. And, if the user stings, the scammer will be able to see everything the other person sees on their device.
This way of accessing allows them to send a security code via SMS to the phone they have controlled. In this way, they will be able to observe it when it reaches the victim and thus be able to take control of your WhatsApp account and transfer it to another device without the other party knowing.
