What is known about Marcus Arduini Monzo, the man with Spanish nationality who killed a minor with a sword in London

A boy died this Tuesday in the attack in Hainault, in north-east London, by a man armed with a sword. The attacker is a 36-year-old man with dual nationality, Brazilian and Spanish, called Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo. This Thursday, after appearing before a judge, he was remanded in preventive detention.

Burns accuses the man of running after 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin, who was heading to school, and stab him before stabbing him in the chest with the sword while the boy lay on the ground.

The police arrived and tried to help Anjorin. Then, out of the bushes, Monzo appeared again and they chased him. The man attacked and injured the two officers. He lunged at one of her and attacked her with his sword while she was on the ground. The woman almost lost her hand.

According to initial investigations, the police were not aware that the man was involved in previous incidents. For now, the terrorist motive has been ruled out.

After the prosecutor’s presentation, the Spanish-Brazilian has placed in preventive detention. The judge has postponed the trial until May 7.
