Joshiy, a veteran director, has gained immense recognition in the film industry due to his successful movies that have been entertaining audiences since the 1980s. However, a recent incident has left everyone shocked.
Last night, Joshiy’s residence in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi was targeted by burglars. As per a report by PTI, the director’s house was subjected to theft, and the CCTV footage revealed a lone thief breaking into the premises at 1:30 AM.
The police have confirmed that Joshiy and his family were present at home when the intruder entered through the kitchen door and stole their belongings.

Based on the report, the burglar managed to pilfer valuable gold and diamond jewelry from the residence of the director. These precious items were securely kept in a cupboard on the second level. The estimated value of the stolen goods is approximately Rs 1 crore.
Furthermore, the police have verified that they are presently scrutinizing the CCTV footage, and the investigation is in progress. According to The Hindu’s report, the stolen loot comprises 10 diamond rings, 8 pairs of diamond earrings, 10 gold chains, 10 gold bangles, and 10 watches.
Director Joshiy’s work front
Joshiy, a seasoned director, has been an integral part of the film industry since the early 1980s. After a brief hiatus, he made a comeback to Malayalam cinema in 2019 with the movie Porinju Mariam Jose, featuring talented actors Joju George, Nyla Usha, and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead roles.
This film not only achieved tremendous success at the box office but also garnered attention, leading to its Telugu remake titled Naa Saami Ranga starring Nagarjuna Akkineni. Furthermore, in 2023, Joshiy directed the action-packed drama Antony.
Joju George and Kalyani Priyadarshan starred in the main roles of the movie, alongside Chemban Vinod Jose, Nyla Usha, Asha Sharath, and Appani Sarath. The film centers around a merciless gangster who finds himself in a clash with a rival gang, resulting in the unintended death of one of their members. Now, he and his group of friends are left with no choice but to rely on violence to resolve the entire situation.
Furthermore, the director is set to helm the Mohanlal starrer project Rambaan which is scheduled to release in the year 2025. The film is written by actor Chemban Vinod Jose with a motion poster unveiled last year.
