‘Vanderpump Rules’ Fans Praise Editors For Jax Taylor’s “Hilariously Dismissive Chyron” Calling Him An “Ex-Sur Employee”

Jax Taylor marched his messy self from the Valley to West Hollywood to stir up some drama in Tuesday night’s (April 23) episode of Vanderpump Rules, which was appropriately titled “Jax Attack.” But fans of the reality show couldn’t help but praise the editors for labeling the former star as an “ex-SUR employee” in his lower thirds.

Taylor was one of the original cast members of Vanderpump Rules, joining the show in 2013 alongside his then-girlfriend Stassi Schroeder as they worked side-by-side in Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant, SUR. Throughout his time on the series, Taylor brought chaos, memorable one-liners, and more chaos to both the group and his workplace. He spent eight full seasons dredging up drama in his life and the lives of his castmates before he officially exited the series in 2020. Nowadays, he is attempting to prove his reformed self on the hit spinoff The Valley.

Taylor’s notoriety in the Vanderpumpverse made it all the more hilarious when the editors dubbed him an “ex-SUR employee” when he made a cameo in Tuesday’s episode, in which he not only confronted Katie Maloney for repeating rumors about his alleged infidelity, but also had a heated chat with Vanderpump about all the crap he’s been talking since leaving Vanderpump Rules.

During their brief but much-needed conversation, Vanderpump slammed Taylor as a “fucking hypocrite” and called him out for saying she was “a prop” and that she was “not needed” on the reality show anymore.

“I could’ve hit back in the press and said the only person who wasn’t needed in the show was you. I could’ve said that but I didn’t,” Vanderpump said before she and Taylor were somewhat able to bury the hatchet.

Taylor’s confrontations aside, fans couldn’t get over the way the editors identified him when he first appeared at James Kennedy‘s house at the beginning of the episode.

“‘Ex-SUR Employee’ is the most hilariously dismissive chyron #VanderpumpRules producers could have given Jax,” one wrote on X, while another added, “The editors don’t get enough credit, I notice little things they do all the time that just crack me up.”

Someone else said, “‘Ex-Sur Employee’ is the funniest possible way for the editors to identify Jax.”

Vanderpump Rules airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
