This is how often you should wash your hair, according to a dermatologist

The doctor Alex Docampo He is a dermatologist and on his TikTok channel, he has recorded a video in which he explains how often we should clean our hair and scalp.

“Many people think that washing your hair a lot is bad because you damage it or that, paradoxically, washing it more more sebum is produced and the hair gets dirtier. But this is totally false,” says Docampo.

According to the doctor, not undertaking regular washing can result in sebum accumulationwhich irritates the scalp and causes conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis or flaking.

Docampo explains that the frequency with which we should wash our hair depends on the individual characteristics of the scalp and hair quality.

Therefore, if we have oily hair, we can wash our hair three, four or even five times a week: “The number of hair washes per week depends on your skin type, but in general three, four, five times a week is more than recommended,” says Docampo.
