They used incapacitating electric guns and replicas of war weapons

The Civil Guard has arrested nine people – eight Ukrainians and one Polish – who belonged to a criminal organization allegedly dedicated to committing robberies in luxury homes of Russian citizens in Finestrat (Alicante). Similar crimes in Ukraine and Poland

The investigation began in August of last year, when the agents became aware of the possible existence of a criminal organization based in the province of Alicante that was dedicated to committing violent robberies in luxury homes in the Marina Baixa.

It was a group from Eastern Europe. that he had committed several violent robberies in homes, causing serious injuries to the residents of the attacked homes. The nine detainees lived in Calpe, Finestrat, La Nucía and Alicante. In the latter, they also had several commercial premises, workshops and an online gaming room, used for money laundering.

The alleged perpetrators had numerous records of similar crimes in their countries of origin – Ukraine and Poland – in addition to drug trafficking. One of the leader’s main collaborators was aware a crime of murder committed in Ukraine in 2018 within the activities carried out in the criminal organization of which he was a member.

The leader of the group, a 28-year-old man of Ukrainian nationality who lived in Finestrat, He had a high standard of living in Spain and he traveled in high-end vehicles accompanied by a delegation that acted as personal security, traveling constantly and staying in luxury hotels in the province.

He was staying in your own chalet in this townwith permanent personal surveillance and a circuit of state-of-the-art cameras and license plate readers at the entrance to the premises.

They had tried to kill a member of the group

During the search, the agents located a control room where the ‘vigilators’ analyzed all this data captured by the control devices. During the course of the operation, they also verified that the organization had illegally detained and tried to kill one of the members of the group, to whom they attributed ‘having betrayed the leader’.

For this reason, Five homes located in Alicante were registered, Calpe, Finestrat and La Nucía, and three commercial premises located in the capital. Of these businesses, two of them were supposed mechanical workshops and the third was a video game arcade located in the center of the city of Alicante with insignificant commercial activity.

To the detainees They are charged with the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, injuries, illegal possession of weapons, membership in a criminal organization, as well as illegal detention and attempted homicide of one of the members of the group.

The operation has been developed by the Heritage Team of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police and the Information Group of the Alicante Civil Guard and directed by the Investigative Court number 1 of Benidorm.
