The last thing a British couple would have imagined when renovating their house was that Beneath their feet was a secret well more than eight meters deep. Therefore, when it appeared when trying to change the floors in their home, they couldn’t believe it.
All when they tried to renovate their house. The couple had bought the home during the pandemic, but it was not until work began that they discovered what was happening.
This is what Victoria Ellington and her husband Andrew have told Daily Mail: “We planned to expand the house and build a family home, but the foundations began to sink and we knew something was happening.”
However, instead of worrying about the more than 200-year-old well, The owners decided to turn it into a “wishing well.” To do this, they installed a series of lights on the walls of the hole and placed transparent glass that allows them to see the depth of the well. And, as they have wanted to make clear, its water is completely crystal clear.
“Andrew just sent me a photo and said, ‘Oh my God, have you seen this?'” the woman said, highlighting how “you can see to the bottom.” Now, with the renovations completed, she assures that the well gives the house a “different” touch, which is why she couldn’t be happier: “When I saw it I was totally impressed and every time I see it I love it.”
