British Military Intelligence has denounced this Sunday the process of “russification of territories busy in Ukraine“and has given as an example Moscow’s mobilization order for the population of the conquered territory in Zaporizhzhia, the first of its kind.
The latest evaluation of the British Ministry of Defense refers to the decree announced by the pro-Russian governorate of Zaporizhiaon April 17, which confirmed the preparations of the necessary infrastructure to mobilize the population of the occupied areas.
London ventures that this decree will have a limited effect because “a significant proportion of the population” of Zaporizhzhia “has left the area“, but understands that this measure “is a way to satisfy the needs of the Armed Forces of Russiawho are asking for additional personnel to sustain their war effort.
British Military Intelligence also understands the decree as part of a broader campaign to “force the population to accept Russian rule” in what he describes as “a tireless policy of Russification of the occupied territories” of Ukraine.
