This is how the president explained it Miquel Armengol, referring to a study carried out by the body. In addition to greater economic relations, there would be an increase in tourism. And the president of the Chamber has opened another door. The train would make it easier for cross-border workers to live in Arieja, with housing costs much cheaper than in the Principality.
The train connection with France could boost neighborhood relations with Arieja and facilitate economic relations, as well as being another element to attract tourism. The ex-president of the Chamber of Commerce, Miquel Armengol, defended it on the “Avui serga un bon dia” program. During his mandate, a study was drawn up on possible rail links. “Since they say they are all going to the Headquarters, they will most likely go there”commented.
One of the most surprising elements is that the Chamber considers that the most viable connection with Spain should not pass through the Seu d’Urgell, as they stress due to logistical issues. Instead, they advocate more to make a connection through Bellver or Martinet.
