Andorra la VellaThe Secretary of State for European Affairs, Landry Riba, confirms that the referendum on the association agreement in Andorra will take place in May next year, delayed due to the analysis of the text by the member states and the elections to the European Parliament. Despite doubts about finances and the free movement of people, the lack of information continues to worry participants, some of whom are still undecided about their vote. The next meeting will be on May 13 in Escaldes-Engordany, and the round will end on June 11 in Andorra la Vella.
“Following the exchange on Tuesday, and it is true that the commission ultimately has no ascendancy over Parliament’s tempos, they are two different institutions, they work differently. If the commission’s information is that the Parliament will not be able to work until the end of this year or the beginning of 2025, we are a little behind. It is a scenario that we had identified and that makes us move a couple of months, at most, in the previous scenario that we had”.
