The PNV believes that Sánchez “is more into leaving than staying” and does not rule out resigning

The president of PNVAndoni Ortuzar, considers that the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez“this more about leaving than stayingso he does not rule out that he resigns and that he has given himself five days of reflection “to give his party time to react.”

In interviews published this Sunday in The mail and in DeiaOrtuzar has referred to this matter and has expressed the opinion that “it is not a pose or a political calculation; I do not have any data, but it gives me the feeling that It is not a tactic to reinforce oneself for the siege to which the PP and the digital far-right press”.

After commenting that he has not been able to speak with Sánchez because “his surroundings” have informed him that “does not answer calls”has sent him his “solidarity and respect”, and has reiterated that “what he has done is strange, which leads me to believe that, at the beginning, he did it more thinking about resigning than continuing.”

In the event that, finally, the president decides to follow “the way to symbolize change and strength,” in Ortuzar’s opinion, is to undergo a question of confidence and that his usual partners support him. “This way we will demonstrate to the PP that there is still a solid investiture majority that is maintained over the months and that it has to stop using the siege as a political instrument,” he explained.

He has also maintained that the Spanish political climate “it is beginning to become unbreathable and with a mixture of very dangerous elements”, among them “the non-assumption of parliamentary arithmetic and that this Government is legitimate”, as well as that “there is a verbal escalation amplified by a media system that lives in a deontological bubble rejectable.”

In the event that Sánchez finally resigns, Ortuzar believes that “it is only possible that be replaced“because “at the moment” new elections cannot be called, and in that case, the “commitments” and “agreements” signed by the PNV and the PSOE would be maintained.
