Andorra la VellaThe Minister of Culture Mònica Bonell intervened this afternoon in the session of the General Council in which the Bill on the own and official language is voted on. During this initial speech, he alluded to how the reality of the country has changed since the last law of the nineties, especially its population and digitization processes.
Currently, there are 300 people enrolled in virtual Catalan courses and 570 in face-to-face ones, as explained by the minister. It has also put the number of people who went to self-learning centers in 2023 at 6,800. This implies that, since the announcement of the law, the number of people learning Catalan has tripled, in Bonell’s words.
