The guerrilla of the National Liberation Army (THE N) had given “the suspension of kidnappings ends” this Monday for economic purposes, which had been agreed upon with the Government on December 17 of last year, considering that the Executive has failed to comply with the creation of a “multi-donor fund for the peace process.”
“The ELN terminates its offer of unilateral suspension of economic withholdings (…) The Fund is not yet established, the Government shows little will to advance in this field,” said the National Directorate of that guerrilla in a statement.
In line with this message, the peace delegation of the Colombian Government has assured that The kidnapping “has no kind of justification and its elimination is not the subject of any transaction by the State”, in response to the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla that terminated the suspension of that crime.
“The Government delegation has always made it clear to the ELN that trade with human beings has no kind of justification and its elimination is not the subject of any transaction by the Colombian State. We hope that the ELN maintains the commitment acquired before Colombian society and the international community and put an end to any form of kidnapping,” the negotiating team said in a statement.
