Andorra la VellaProsecutors are asking for fifteen months in prison for the driver who caused a fatal accident in Auvinyà nine years ago. As reports RTVA, is accused of homicide due to serious recklessness and is being asked to serve a fifteen-month suspended sentence, along with the withdrawal of his driver’s license for a period of three years. Compensation of 80,000 euros is also requested for the family members.
The defense, for its part, considers that a mechanical error of the vehicle had an impact on the accident and requests a sentence of six months’ probation.
The incident dates from November 2015, when the two work colleagues were traveling along the Rabassa road in the same vehicle and, on a day of heavy rain, the driver lost control and collided with a truck after ‘a problem with the brakes. At first it appeared that his colleague suffered only minor injuries, but he died four days later in hospital after being rushed to hospital.
