Andorra la VellaThe Coordinator for a Decent Housing held its first general assembly this Sunday. The main objective of the association was established, as detailed in a statement published on the networks: “to achieve access to decent housing for all citizens of Andorra”. They also explain that this purpose will be sought “through the generation of tools for mutual support and solidarity, as well as the mobilization of the population as a whole to demand general solutions in the country”. With reference to the fact of consolidating as an association, they have taken the decision to legally establish themselves as such definitively.
However, they have defined a roadmap with three steps. First, analyze the housing situation in the country. Second, establish a program for decent housing. And, third, develop an action plan to reach the milestone.
Regarding the organizational structure, they have consolidated an internal structure with a general assembly as the highest decision-making body, a coordinating board to guarantee the execution of decisions and several work committees to address the different issues.
With regard to democratic control mechanisms, they state that “the collective will always be prioritized over individuals”. In addition, they add that the members of the Coordinator have no intention of maintaining individual anonymity in front of those people, groups and organizations with whom it will be necessary to deal and collaborate. However, they clarify that the media treatment will always be with the collective’s name.
