The Government of the Madrid’s community has invited only two members of the central Executive to the institutional event of the May 2ndwhich is held every year at the Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the regional Presidency: to the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, and to the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín.
This has been confirmed by sources from the Madrid Executive, after Last year the event was marked by controversy with the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Felix Bolaños, who attended the event without being invited and wanted to go up to the tribune of foreign authorities, but the Community Protocol service prevented him from doing so.
Torres is the minister assigned responsibility for territorial policy, territorial organization of the State and relations with the autonomous communities, while Martín is responsible for representing the Government in the region.
To the May 2 eventwhich is celebrated on the day of the Community of Madrid, more than 500 guests attend each year and the regional government recognizes outstanding professional careers as well as excellence in institutions.
