The emblematic Parisian cabaret of Moulin Rouge lost its blades this morningwhich broke off and fell to the ground in an accident without victims, the causes of which are currently unknown.
The blades collapsed on the boulevard of Clichy shortly after 2:00 local time (00:00 GMT) unknown reasons and also slightly damaged the façade of the building. Of course, the incident has not caused any injuries.
The firefighters arrived around 2:45 (00:45 GMT) and established a security perimeter around the building in case more elements or materials fell.
Founded in 1889 at the foot of the famous Montmartre hill, the Moulin Rouge quickly became one of the symbols of the Parisian night and the tourist attractions of the French capital, immortalized by the works of Toulouse-Lautrec.
The cabaret celebrates its 135th anniversary in 2024 and receives about 600,000 visitors a year, according to its own figures.
“This is the first time that an accident of this type has occurred. since the founding of the Moulin Rouge, on October 6, 1889,” the company that owns the site told the AFP agency.
