Crawford Is Yet To Fight Since Defeating Errol Spence

Alalshikh hailed as a pivotal figure in boxing, has orchestrated remarkable events over the past year, many of which seemed unlikely to come to fruition. As the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, he stands as the driving force behind the highly-anticipated undisputed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk scheduled for May 18. Notably, he recently facilitated the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol undisputed clash.

Crawford, aged 36, has been absent from the ring since his victory over Errol Spence in July last year, where he claimed the title of the first undisputed welterweight champion in the four-belt era. Despite numerous speculations and opportunities swirling around him, securing a fight for Crawford has proven to be an arduous task.

Initially, talks for a rematch with Spence fell through, followed by discussions of a potential bout with newly-crowned WBC and WBO super-welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora. However, recent reports suggest complications, with Fundora and Tim Tszyu eyeing a rematch for November in Las Vegas.

At present, the specifics of Crawford’s next fight remain undisclosed. Israil Madrimov spectacularly clinched the WBA super-welterweight title, delivering a knockout blow to Magomed Kubranov during the undercard of the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou event.

Despite Madrimov not being a household name, his fighting style reminiscent of Golovkin’s aggression has drawn attention. His acquisition of a world title adds weight to Terence Crawford’s potential matchups with other champions in the same weight class, bringing closer the possibility of high-stakes encounters in the boxing arena.
