An interesting development started this weekend as former WWE star Erick Rowan is canceling his scheduled indie wrestling appearances. Stating that his new contract obligations are preventing him from making several dates, there is talk that he could be signed back to WWE.
Further to that, the “You Forgot About Us.” glitch that took place during SmackDown on Friday might have Rowan included in it. Speculation is that Bo Dallas could play Uncle Howdy, Braun Strowman, and Erick Rowan could be included and Alexa Bliss may be involved when she returns. If so, this would be WWE reuniting the remaining four members of The Wyatt Family.
PWInsider is reporting that several independent promotions have announced that Erick Rowan has pulled out of upcoming events due to “contractual obligations.” Rowan was in Pittsburgh this past week, where WWE talent went for medical testing. This is not a confirmation of his signing with WWE and the company has not offered any indication that he’s back, but it certainly would make sense if Triple H is looking to create a faction in tribute to Wyatt.
One of the promotions that lost out on being able to use Rowan was ECPW. They wrote:
We have just received word this evening from Erick Rowan that unfortunately he will not be able to make his scheduled appearance next week at Coal Town Carnage. Erick stated that new contractual obligations are preventing him from making several dates including ours. This is the first time in ECPW history that one of our scheduled stars cancelled and it is out of our control. With that being said, the show will still feature Former WWE Superstar Brian Kendrick, the debut of Vanessa Kraven plus all of the superstars or East Coast Pro Wrestling. Mysterious Teaser Sparks Speculation of Uncle Howdy’s Return to WWE
There were two moments on Monday Night where WWE teased a mysterious character debuting. Many think it will be Uncle Howdy.
WWE released a documentary Bray Wyatt and there was lots of talk surrounding the late WWE star at WrestleMania. Strowman is expected to return from injury soon and Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas has been teased at numerous events in recent weeks. This would be a cool moment and what many fans are hoping is a great tribute to Wyatt. If this group will be known as the Funhouse or something else remains to be seen. But, it will be a very cool collection of talents and likely a dominant group.
