La MassanaThe events took place in Sant Antoni de la Massana avenue. A cyclist was riding a road bike and ran into a woman crossing a pedestrian crossing. The woman suffered moderate head trauma and other injuries that took a year and a half to heal. The cyclist claimed that he had not been able to see the pedestrian in time because there were cars parked in the wrong way above the crossing area that prevented his vision. The man, however, has been convicted because he was deemed to be going too fast and it was this excess speed that prevented him from stopping in time. He was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of grossly negligent injury causing felony injury.
