Royal Family updates — Prince William reveals Kate health latest as King Charles all smiles on public return

Will and Kate’s time apart

In April 2007, after nearly five years together, Prince William and Kate Middleton briefly separated.

At the time it was claimed Kate was struggling with the media attention that comes with being a royal.

But William later told ITV News‘s Tom Bradby in their engagement interview that it was “just a bit of space.”

He said: “We did split up for a bit, but that was just, we were both very young, it was at university, and we were both sort of defining ourselves as such and being different characters and stuff.

Kate added: “It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up.

“I at the time wasn’t very happy about it, but actually it made me a stronger person.

“You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn’t realized.

“I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you’re younger, and I really valued that time for me, as well.”

When Will and Kate’s romance blossomed

Prince William had known Kate Middleton for a number of years before 2003.

But it was that year, as they lived together in student housing, when their romance truly blossomed.

This was the same year that Kate wore that iconic mesh dress in a charity fashion, the moment when William began seeing the future Queen as more than a friend.

Fellow student Charlotte Todd designed the dress and went on to tell People magazine: “Everyone says that the fashion show was when the romance started, so a small part of me will always be part of royal history. It’s madness!”

Is Meghan set for a UK return?

Prince Harry is jetting to the UK next week as part of the Invictus Games’ 10th-anniversary celebrations.

However, it seems unlikely that his wife Meghan Markle will be joining him.

The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson said: “Meghan has shown very little interest in doing anything in the UK since Megxit.

“Interestingly, the Sussex camp has neither confirmed nor denied whether Meghan will join Harry when he flies over next week.

“The Sussex camp has carefully worded their announcement Meghan won’t be at the service but will join Harry for their Nigeria trip.”
