Ric Flair has revealed a serious health scare that he suffered during his final-ever match as he claims to have suffered a heart attack during the encounter.
Ric Flair Suffered A Heart Attack Mid-Match
When Flair’s final match was announced, the health and safety of the two-time WWE Hall Of Famer was at the heart of many people’s thoughts. The Nature Boy was given some protection by the fact it was a tag team match that saw him team with Andrade El Idolo against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, but he still pushed himself to the extremes to get ready for it.

While elements of what Flair did in the match were technically sound, it did come at a price. That’s because he revealed during an interview with the JAXXSON Podcast that he suffered a legitimate heart attack during that encounter.
“Yeah, I trained (for my last match), I got in the best shape, ever since I was 20 years old, and then I had a heart attack during the match … I didn’t know myself until about six months ago.” (h/t

Ric Flair Found Out After Talking To His Doctor
Flair’s physical condition during and after the tag team match is something that had fans concerned back in 2022 when it happened. He’s since admitted to blacking out during the encounter, and that link is how his doctor determined his heart attack diagnosis.
“The guy takes me in and if you look at your heart like a round pie, there’s a piece of my heart right here, this big, it’s black, it’s gone. The guy said, ‘You’ve had a heart attack in the last two years.’ I said, ‘I never hurt.’ He said, ‘Have you passed out in the last two years?’ And during my last match, I passed out three times, and I thought it was because I was dehydrated. So I went in the locker room, I was with Kid Rock and Taker. I just drank two bottles of Gatorade and went back out to Kid Rock’s place all night long. But I had a heart attack. It didn’t hurt, no, none. I feel great, that’s my problem. I’m sure I’m just gonna fall off a chair one day (he laughed). They’re gonna say, ‘there he is.'”
The fact that Flair feels healthy is a positive situation overall, but the heart attack news is concerning. At this stage, Flair has no more matches booked, and it’s unlikely that he’d be medically cleared to ever wrestle again. But Flair has been involved physically since working for AEW.
During Sting’s final match, the Nature Boy was beaten down by The Young Bucks, proving that despite all of his health scares Flair is still willing to do whatever it takes to entertain people.
