Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe slams body shamers

Reese Witherspoon’s look-alike daughter, Ava Phillippe, blasted body-shaming internet trolls in a new TikTok video.

“NBD but I just achieved a major milestone as a woman online,” Phillippe, 24, wrote over the clip posted Saturday while applying lipstick to the tune of a cover of No Doubt’s “Just a Girl.”

“I saw 2 different strangers commenting on my body,” she continued. “The first said I should get on Oz*mpic because I’m too fat. The second accused me of starving myself because I’m too thin.”

Phillippe explained that her weight “did not change” during the time period between the nasty comments and that it “wouldn’t be any of their business” if she had gained or lost weight.

“It’s such bulls–t,” she wrote. “No one deserves to be picked apart for what they look like.”

Phillippe added that the public has no idea what a person is going through or “what they struggle with.”

“But no matter who you are … Your beauty exceeds superficial measures,” she wrote.

Phillippe captioned the post by calling body-shaming “simply toxic behavior.”

“Pretty is as pretty does, babes,” she wrote, adding the hashtag #loveyouasyouare.

She also clarified that her post was directed toward women because she sees body-shaming happening “disproportionately to young girls & women.”

“But let me be clear; bodyshaming is toxic no matter who the subject is. We all deserve to feel safe & at peace in the vessel we live in,” she wrote.

Her mom took to the comments section to celebrate the influencer’s wise words.

“Yes to all of this,” Witherspoon, 48, wrote along with a kiss mark emoji.

Other fans of the “Legally Blonde” star’s daughter flooded the comments section to commend her for standing up for herself.

“This!!! We as women do not need any of this toxicity/negativity,” one netizen wrote.

“We should be building each other up not tearing each other down. BTW, you are a light in this world and absolutely gorgeous.”

Phillippe’s post made reference to one of her favorite quotes she learned while growing up in the South.

“A big saying in the South, especially amongst women is ‘Pretty is as pretty does,’” she said in an April interview with People.

“Every time that comes up in my brain or I see people being critical of others online for their appearance, I just always think, you’re only as beautiful as you treat other people.”

She added, “I think that you glow from within when you’re a good person.”

Witherspoon shares her daughter and son Deacon, 20, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, to whom she was married from 1999 to 2007.

The “Morning Show” star also shares son Tennessee, 11, with her second husband, Jim Toth, whom she divorced last summer after 12 years of marriage.
