Raffaella Carrá, ‘canonized’ in Zamora to the rhythm of “Pedro, Pedro, Pedro” in a pilgrimage

As in any other pilgrimage there has been flute and drum music, a festive atmosphere and a procession, only this has taken place in Zamora within the framework of a music festival and the image that has been paraded on the litter has been that of ‘saint’ Raffaella Carráwith blessings included and the chorus ‘Pedro, Pedro, Pedro’ as a current hymn.

The independent music festival Hooray, which last year ‘canonized’ David Bowiein this edition he has paid tribute to the Italian diva who died in 2021 with a pilgrimage procession in which some of his most emblematic songs have been heard such as You have to come to the south either In love everything is beginning.

At the event there was no lack of glitter or Carrá imitators, with their unmistakable blonde hair and her sequin dress; nor the raccoon costumes, in reference to the video clip of his song that is currently very current in Spain due to the dilemma of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Apart from well-known sites such as El Retiro, these are three other options to enjoy the Madrid spring.

After some first prayers at an altar dedicated to the multifaceted actress, singer, dancer and television presenter Next to one of the festival stages, a pilgrimage procession took place inside the city’s Ifeza fairgrounds, where a thousand people gathered.

The procession was led by two impersonators of priests and an altar boy, who distributed holy water and sang songs dedicated to Raffaella María Roberta Pelloni, her given name.

Prayers

“Raffaella we present ourselves to you as your shepherds”, “Blessed are you when you are reviled and persecuted for your misunderstood musical taste” and “Oh lady of light! deign to give us strength to overcome the temptations of reggaeton”, were some of the particular chants sung at the stations of this peculiar civic procession.

The organizer of the festival, Andrés Cid, explained that the festival is dedicated each year to a representative musician, and the one chosen this year responds to the fact that “the spirit of our festival and our pilgrimage is what Raffaella has always had it in all her songs” having always been a “very fun” person.

Also, before and after the pilgrimage could be heard live the music of Musikeos, Querido, Titis Twister, Melifluo, Pony bravo, Triangulo de amor bizarro, Grande amore and, to close as the star of the poster, León Benavente.
