Andorra la VellaThe Catalan Traffic Service reports that a fatal road accident was registered yesterday afternoon at kilometer point 120.5 of the C-14 road in the municipality of Ponts (La Noguera). The Mossos d’Esquadra received the warning at 6:58 p.m.
For reasons that are still being investigated, two cars collided head-on. As a result of the accident, two people were critically injured and a third, less seriously injured. All three were taken to Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Lleida. Later, one of the critically injured people, the front passenger of one of the cars, died. It is a man, EMM, aged 54 and a resident of Arbúcies.
In the accident, several patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra, six crews of the Fire Department of the Generalitat and three units, two medical helicopters and the psychological support service of the Medical Emergency System (SEM) worked.
