NXT’s Sol Ruca Has Gone Viral Again Thanks To A Modified Sol Snatcher

WWE definitely already has big plans for Sol Ruca now she’s recovered from her knee injury.

Highlights

  • NXT’s Sol Ruca has gone viral again for another display of tremendous athleticism.
  • Ruca his a modified version of the Sol Snatcher on Blair Davenport, using the rope and connecting with a surfboard.
  • The original version of the move went viral prior to Ruca taking almost a year off to recover from a knee injury.

There was a period in recent WWE history when it felt like the golden age of NXT had been and gone. Triple H was taking some time off and Vince McMahon was getting heavily involved with the brand. That ship has been well and truly turned around with Shawn Michaels at the helm and The Game overseeing all of WWE creative, and some very promising young stars are now working on the brand. One of those stars is Sol Ruca who went viral again this week for her performance at Spring Breakin’.

Sol Ruca Is A Star

Ruca picked up a win over Blair Davenport on Tuesday night, arguably the biggest victory of her NXT career so far and one that may well propel her into NXT Women’s Title contention. There are a few moments from the match that have been posted on social media frequently since Ruca picked up the win, but it’s the move that kept Davenport down for a three count that stunned fans who were watching live the most, and then fans who didn’t who have since seen the clip on Twitter.

Trick Williams defeated Ilya Dragunov in the main event of NXT Spring Breakin’ to become the new NXT Champion.

Ruca went viral early in her NXT career when debuting her finisher the Sol Satcher on Level Up. The move sees Ruca hop up onto the second rope in the corner, propel herself into a front flip, and then bring her opponent down to the mat with her RKO-style. It’s incredibly impressive and requires a tremendous amount of athleticism to pull off. However, the regular version of the move was improved upon at Spring Breakin’ for a couple of reasons.

Sol Snatcher Onto A Surfboard

For starters, Ruca hits the move onto a surfboard, guaranteeing Davenport would not be kicking out. However, the even more impressive element of the modified Sol Snatcher was that the NXT star did it off the middle of the ropes rather than the turnbuckle. The additional air she got from springing off the middle of the rope gave her more time to flip and made the move look even more impressive, hence fans rushing to share the clip as soon as it happened.

Ruca has future star written all over her, and that future likely isn’t too distant considering how good she looks already. She may well have been competing for the title by now if it wasn’t for a knee injury she suffered in 2023. Ruca was on the sidelines for almost a year, one of many to have been affected by a spate of serious knee injuries to female stars in NXT. Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons are both out of action with similar problems at the moment.
