Normani had only one name in mind when she had to recite her sultry “Wild Side” lyrics as part of a prank: wide receiver boyfriend DK Metcalf.
During a recent interview with Elle magazine, the 27-year-old singer played the “Phoning It In” game, where one carries out random challenges, which included a risqué request involving the Seahawks star.
“That’s gonna get pretty intense,” Normani said when tasked to carry on a conversation by only quoting the lyrics to her 2021 song “Wild Side” which featured rapper Cardi B.

Upon calling Metcalf, 26, Normani recited her song lyric: “I’m ready to pull up on you.”
The wideout replied, “In Seattle?”
Holding back a laugh, Normani said, “Yeah, I’m ready to do what I do.”
Metcalf sounded confused and repeatedly asked, “What are you talking about?”
That’s when things got spicy.

“Shoot your shot, ’cause I’m bulletproof,” Normani said, to which Metcalf quipped: “Oh, well then come on, say it to me again.”
Normani playfully yelled and covered her mouth with her hand.
The couple then FaceTimed and Normani explained that she was playing a game for Elle — but Metcalf wanted to keep going.
“Babe, we’re all here,” Normani said while showing Metcalf the camera crew. “I had to call you and recite my lyrics but they’re a little provocative so you were the only person that I could call. I love you.”
Metcalf replied, “I love you too, but why we gotta stop?”
Normani laughed and told him to stop.
“Y’all are doing too much and got me nervous,” she said after they hung up.
Normani and Metcalf are fairly private about their relationship.

The former Fifth Harmony member confirmed the romance on social media when they attended Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett’s wedding last summer.
They were first photographed together at celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif., in June 2022.
Normani’s first solo album, “Dopamine,” is set for release on June 14.
Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler, is entering his sixth season in Seattle.
